The 70th F.I.C.C. International Rally in Taiwan

The 70th F.I.C.C. International Rally was held on October 7-16, 2005 at the scenic Liyutan campground in Hualien County of eastern Taiwan. It was attended by around 1,200 campers, of which 150 were from overseas. The participants were welcomed by Taiwanese campers with enthusiastic hospitality and enjoyed international cultural exchanges through a party, entertainment, tour, symposium, and other events.

Asia-Pacific Commission Meeting

An Asia-Pacific Commission meeting held during the 70th FICC Rally in Taiwan was attended by representatives of Japan, Korea, and Taiwan. It was reported that Korean pages had been added to the Asia-Pacific Commission web site, which is officially made in English and already had Japanese pages. It was also decided that Chinese pages would be created in the future as well. Furthermore, detailed information was provided regarding the 10th Asia-Pacific Rally, scheduled to be held at Ryuyou Auto Camp in Japan in November 2006, and it was agreed that the 11th Asia-Pacific Rally would take place in Taiwan and be organized by Camping Association of the Republic of China. It was also proposed that for young campers the 1st Asia-Pacific Youth Rally be held in conjunction with the 11th Asia-Pacific Rally.

International Jazz Festival

The 2nd International Jazz Festival started on Jara Island in Gapyung on September 2, the same place where the 74th FICC Internationla Rally will take place. The festival was held for 3 days and nights even after mid night. About 80,000 people joined the festival for many concerts and artists from all over the world. For the year 2008 this festival is planned to be held with the the 74 FICC Rally in the middle of the rally period. It is expected to be the greatest program for the international rally with many of young and energetic audiences and KCCF campers from all regions in Korea.

The 69th FICC Rally in Italy

The 69th FICC rally took place in Bologna, Italy from 25th July to 7th August 2005, organised by the Confederazione Italiana Campeggiatori which celebrates its 55th anniversary this year. More than 1700 participants from 28 countries enjoyed visiting the ancient and famous city of Bologna, renowned all over the world for its university, its town centre, its cuisine and its folklore. They could also visit the beauties of famous Italian destinations, rich in history and art: Venice, Florence, San Marino, Rimini etc. Of course they could spend the most pleasnt time at the rally site, Parco Nord, with a plenty of entertainments, receptions, private parties and meeting different kinds. The God too blessed the people with the wonderful sunshine all during the rally.

FICC General Assembly

An F.I.C.C. General Assembly was convened in conjunction with the 69th F.I.C.C. International Rally held from July 28 to August 7, 2005, and Mr. Joao Alves Pereira from Portugal was elected to be the new President. Mr. Pereira, at 36, became the youngest President in the history of F.I.C.C.

Mr. Lars Dahlberg from Finland, who had served three terms as F.I.C.C. President for nine years, assumed the post of Honorary President.

Finally, the F.I.C.C. Council decided to award the Gold Medal, which is the highest honor given any F.I.C.C. member, to Mr. Kazuhiro Akase for his lasting dedication to the F.I.C.C., where he served four terms as Council Member for as long as 12 years. Mr. Akase is the first non-European member to be honored with the Gold Medal.

FICC Rally 2008 decided to Korea

The General Assembly of FICC held on 3 August decided to nominate KCCF as the organizer of the FICC Rally 2008. The rally to be held in Gapyoung will be the second international event in Korea after 2002.

Commission Meeting

During the Rally the Commission had a meeting to discuss about the future policies of activitiy in the Asia-Pacific region.

The 10th Asia-Pacific Rally announced

Japan Auto Camping Federation (JAC) has announced that the 10th Asia-Pacific Rally will be held (in conjunction with the 36th Japan Autocamping Rally) for a period of four days, Thursday-Sunday, November 2-5, 2006, at Ryuyou Auto Camp in Iwata City of Shizuoka, Japan.

KCCF visiting Japan

KCCF(Korea Camping & Caravanning Federation) is interested to host the FICC Rally 2008 and selected Gapyoung in Gyounggi State as the host city in March with an agreement of Gyounggi State Government and National Tourism Department. After the decision, KCCF and Gapyoung City Government established a Joint Preparation Committee and its office in Seoul. The Committee is planning to construct a new camping ground on an island on a lake and a sub site on a mountainous valley location in Gapyoung. In this connection the Committee decided to carry out the field investigation for studying the high-class campgrounds in Japan, forming a visiting committee with 9 people including the Vice Mayor of Gapyoung City, Director of tourism department, President of KCCF and architects. They stayed in Japan from 22 to 26 April and visited four campsites which count as the best and most luxurious ones in the country.

International Symposium

An international symposium titled "The Future of Autocamping and the Environment" was held by Japan Autocamping Federation with the patronage of FICC on March 22, 2005 in Tokyo. Mr.Lars Dahlberg, President of the Federation Internationale de Camping et de Caravanning., gave a keynote speech "EU Eco-label for the development of Sustainable Tourism in Europe". Following the keynote a panel discussion was conducted by knowledgeable experts representing each field of the autocamping. The result of the discussion was incorporated into the Autocamper's Charter and declared at the closing of the Symposium by Mr.Kazuhiro Akase, Council Member of FICC, in order to be used as the future guidelines for autocampers.

Mark of Asia Pacific Commission

Japanese Site
