The 12th Asia-Pacific Rally in Japan
The 12th Asia-Pacific Rally (in conjunction with the 39th Japan Autocamping Rally), organized by Japan Auto Camping Federation and co-hosted by Ibaraki Prefecture, Town of Daigo, and Daigo Development Corporation, is scheduled to be held at Green Villa Daigo in the Town of Daigo, Ibaraki, Japan from Friday, November 20 to Monday, November 23, 2009.
The venue of the Rally, Green Villa Daigo, is one of the highest ranked campsites in Japan, being rated with five stars by Japan Auto Camping Federation. It was also voted No. 1 by readers of a camping magazine as the most popular campsite in Japan.
In addition to having hot springs facilities within the ground, it offers sites on a well-kept lawn as well as RV sites with latest equipment, making it Japan's most advanced campsite. Campers choose Green Villa Daigo not only for these advanced facilities but also for the quality hospitality provided by the campsite staff who warmly welcome the visitors.
The campsite has 43 individual sites equipped with electric hookups, a free site that can accommodate 22 tents, and 7 RV sites complete with electric hookups, water supply and sewage system. The sites on a well-kept lawn offers comfortable camping environment to campers.
The accommodation facilities consist of cabins and permanent camping trailers. There are 6 Family Cabins (each accommodating 4-5 guests) and 9 Group Cabins (each accommodating 8-12 guests). Both types of cabins are equipped with air conditioners/heaters and complete with all the amenities necessary for daily life, such as beds and futons and even tableware. With enough room in each cabin, they offer comfort to guests.
The town of Daigo, home to the campsite, is situated in the Okukuji Hot Springs Village and is known for its abundant hot springs. In particular, Daigo Hot Springs is popular among women for its good effect on the health of skin. In addition to the hot springs facilities within the campground, including outdoor baths, the neighboring facility Forespa Daigo has a hot spring pool, tube riders, three types of saunas, etc., offering fun hot spring experiences throughout the four seasons. A great number of campers visit this facility throughout the year, as they can walk to there from the campsite. Furthermore, Mori No Ideyu is just a one-minute drive from the campsite. There the visitors can enjoy large outdoor baths, hot spring showers, and if itfs the season of apples, an "apple bath" where bathers can indulge in the sweet and sour fragrance of local apples.
One of the tourist attractions in the town of Daigo is Fukuroda Falls, which is one of Japan's three most powerful waterfalls. It is also called "Four-Level Falls" as it falls down on four levels of rock. Another story behind this name is that the famous Buddhist monk Saigyo Hoshi left the following comment when he visited this waterfall: "You must visit this waterfall in all four seasons to understand its true beauty."As this comment suggests, each season presents totally different scenes of the waterfall, attracting visitors throughout the year. The late November, when the Rally is scheduled to be held, is the best time to visit Fukuroda Falls with colorful autumn leaves surrounding the waterfall.
The venue Green Villa Daigo is about an hour drive from Naka Interchange on Joban Expressway. The route from the interchange runs along Kujigawa River in the mountains offering beautiful landscapes.
