The 74th FICC Rally

The second FICC Rally in Korea

The General Assembly of FICC held on 3 August 2005 in Bologna, Italy, decided to nominate KCCF as the organizer of the FICC Rally 2008.

The rally will take place in Gapyoung in Gyounggi State, located 67km away from Seoul to the northeast. It has a population of 55,000 and a total area of 840 km2 (1.4 times bigger than Seoul). 84 percent of the land is mountainous area. The rally venue is Jara Island (Jarasum) on the Cheongpyeong lake which is a man-made lake blocked by two dams upstream and downstream on the Han River. The island consists of three parts, each bound by a natural path. The first part of the island is connected with the lakeside by a pretty wide road so it looks like rather "peninsula".

Jara Island is already famous for the International Jazz Festival which lasts a couple of days and nights, joined by a lot of artists from all over the world.

Gapyoung County is planning to construct an auto camping ground both on the lakeside and on the island. Since the island belongs to the conservation area, they will concentrate permanent buildings on the lakeside and arrange only auto camping pitches on the island. The total budget is expected to be about 20 million Euro.
